History. This publication is an administrative revision.
Summary. This revision is required to update administration of medication and performing caregiving health practices pursuant to the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended. The publication of this administrative revision does not rescind or supersede policy changes to the regulation found in Army Directives (AD), including AD 2015-20 and 2015-44, existing at the time of this publication.
Applicability. This regulation applies to the Regular Army, the U.S. Army Reserve (USARUSARUnited States Army Reserve) on active duty, active duty
for training, or special active duty for training (30 days or more duration). The Army National Guard of the United States (ARNGUSARNGUSArmy National Guard of the United States) on active duty, active duty for training, or special active duty for training under title 10, United States Code (30 days or more duration). Members of other uniformed services (and their families) assigned to Army installations. Others entitled to care in medical treatment facilities (MTFs). This regulation does not apply to members of the USARUSARUnited States Army Reserve performing inactive duty training or to members of the ARNGUSARNGUSArmy National Guard of the United States performing duty in a State status under title 32, United States Code.
Proponent and exception authority. The proponent of this regulation is the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-9. The proponent has the authority to approve exceptions to this regulation that are consistent with controlling law and regulation. Proponents may delegate this approval authority, in writing, to a division chief within the proponent agency in the grade of colonel or the civilian equivalent.
Army internal control process. This regulation contains internal control provisions in accordance with AR 11-2
and identifies key internal controls that must be evaluated.
Supplementation. Supplementation of this regulation and establishment of command and local forms are prohibited without prior approval from HQDA, DCSDCSDeputy Chief of Staff, G–3/5/7, G-9, Directorate, Prevention, Resilience, and Readiness (DPRR), at usarmy.pentagon.hqda-dcs-g-9.mbx.publishing-team@army.mil.
